VMware announced today that Cloud Foundry now supports Play 2.0 as a first-class framework.
Cloud Foundry is an open platform-as-a-service, providing a choice of clouds, developer frameworks and application services. Initiated by VMware, with broad industry support, Cloud Foundry makes it faster and easier to build, test, deploy and scale applications. It is an open source project and is available through a variety of private cloud distributions and public cloud instances, including CloudFoundry.com.
Play framework, part of the Typesafe Stack, is a lightweight, stateless, web-friendly framework for Java and Scala. Developers can leverage this event-driven non-blocking IO architecture to build highly scalable applications. Play 2.0 applications can now be deployed to CloudFoundry.com and take advantage of being a fully supported framework that includes auto-reconfiguration, simplified service connections, and automatic database management.
